What linq is

linq is an expense preparation tool. We help you organise receipts and expenses for your accountant. We are the preparation layer — we do not provide tax advice, lodge tax returns, or act as a registered tax agent. Always consult a qualified accountant or tax professional for tax decisions.

Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you upload
  • AI-suggested categories are suggestions only — you must review and confirm them
  • linq is not a substitute for professional tax advice
  • You must not upload content that is illegal, fraudulent, or violates others' rights
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure

What we provide

  • Receipt upload, storage, and organisation
  • AI-powered OCR and ATO category suggestions
  • Export to Excel and PDF
  • Accountant share links (read-only, time-limited)
  • Email forwarding for receipt capture

Availability

We aim to keep linq available, but we don't guarantee 100% uptime. We may perform maintenance with reasonable notice. During the invite-only phase, access may be limited or revoked at our discretion.

Liability

linq is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:

  • We are not liable for errors in AI classification — always review before relying on it
  • We are not liable for tax outcomes based on data prepared using linq
  • Our total liability is limited to the fees you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim

Intellectual property

You own your data. We own the linq software, design, and brand. By uploading content, you grant us a licence to process it for the purpose of providing the service (OCR, classification, storage, display). We do not claim ownership of your receipts or financial data.

Account termination

You can stop using linq at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are inactive for 12+ months. On termination, we retain your data for 30 days (for recovery), then delete it.

Changes to terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of New South Wales.
